Boca Grande Lighthouse ParkBoca Grande Lighthouse Park Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) The 1890 Boca Grande Lighthouse, located in Gasparilla Island State Park, is a maritime landmark. Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the lighthouse provides a perfect observation site for boat traffic and fishing expeditions. This landmark also provides cool shade for picnickers. Swimming is not recommended here because of strong currents. The area around the lighthouse plays seasonal host to many of the nations' prominent fisherman, who come fishing for tarpon in the Boca Grande Pass. Located in the park is the Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum and Amory Memorial Chapel. Admission to the museum is a $1 per person donation. I n addition to fishing, the lighthouse park also provides a great area for windsurfing and sailing.
