Florida Repertory TheatreFlorida Repertory Theatre Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Florida Repertory Theatre is Southwest Florida's Premier Professional Theatre. It is the only professional regional theatre below Sarasota in Southwest Florida. It was established in 1998 when Producing Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo was offered the historic Arcade Theatre in downtown Fort Myers. The Arcade Theatre, a favorite meeting place for residents and visitors alike for over 90 years, was built in 1908 and exhibits all the charm and grandeur of early Florida. It served originally as a vaudville house and was the very auditorium that Fort Myers resident Thomas Edison sat in to view his first films, with his friends Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone.
